The Ding Project

A question that gets asked a lot today is where are the heroes?
We are disappointed in our leaders - we are missing a sense of honour.
We are increasingly fragmented as a society - we are missing a sense of unity.
We are more and more materialistic - we are missing a sense of meaning.
Honour. Unity. Meaning.
Isn't that what heroes are for? They bring us together. They fight for the things that are important to us, and they do it with honour and dignity.
We can all be heroes. We all have things we can do better than other people, and things where it seems like everyone can do them better than us. But to be heroes, we need something else. We need courage.
Courage is what separates heroes from the everyday person. To not only know what's right, but to do what's right. To not only see the end goal, but to have the persistence and determination to get there. Not to have no fear, but to conquer our fear. Courage. That's what the world is missing. That's what we need.
This is one of my favourite quotes:
"The highest courage is to appear to be what one is."
If we are heroes, is that how we appear? And if not, why not?
The Ding Project is for heroes. One of my heroes, Steve Jobs, said when he was young that he wanted to put a ding in the universe. He had talent, and courage, and he did.
The Ding Project is connects people who want to make a mark on our world with people who can help them do it.
If that's you, we need to get to know each other.
What I'm doing is not-for-profit, I'm just starting out and I could use some help.
